This camera has a 3.6mm lens and has 520 TVL resolution.  It is weather proof, vandal proof, and has 50′ IR range so you can see what is happening even in the dark.

You can also upgrade 1 or more of the cameras to the Techvision LX550IR100L49 camera which is similar to the base camera but gives you 550 TVL resolution, a 4-9mm varifocal lens and 100′ IR.  This upgrade costs $35.00 per camera.

You can also upgrade 1 or more cameras to the Techvision 550 TVL 3X PTZ camera as well.  This camera is featured in a previous post and is pretty neat.   This camera might be useful if you have a need to have a camera that can pan tilt and zoom but you don’t need to zoom more than about 3X. With a super high 550TVL resolution and a built-in 5-15mm 3x zoom lens, this camera will satisfy most, if not all, of your PTZ requirements.   You can upgrade for $115.00 per camera.

The DVR comes with a 250 GB hard drive standard and it can be upgraded to a 500 GB, 750 GB or 1 Terrabyte drive as well.

Techvision has released a new and kind of unique PTZ camera that has a low intro price of $285.00. This camera might be useful if you have a need to have a camera that can pan tilt and zoom but you don’t need to zoom more than about 3X. With a super high 550TVL resolution and a built-in 5-15mm 3x zoom lens, this camera will satisfy most, if not all, of your PTZ requirements. High quality, weatherproof housing can be used indoors or outdoors and comes standard with a wall and a ceiling mount for even greater versatility and value. This camera communicates using the standard RS-485 and Pelco protocol.

At this price you can afford to use more than one on your system! You should note that if you are using more than one you need to purchase the programming module for $25.00.
